Primary Purpose:
Provide secretarial l services for the assistant principals primarily in the area of discipline management.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficient skills in word processing, and file maintenance.
- Demonstrate advanced communication (verbal, and written) skills and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information concerning teachers and students
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
Experience:
- Mderate to advanced skills in spelling, grammar, filing and calculations.
- One to two years of secretarial experience preferably in an educational environment.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Make and receive telephone calls, screen calls, take messages, and route calls
- Maintain school records and files for building, assistant principals and related requirements.
- Serve as confidential secretary to assistant principals.
- Greet visitors and students.
- Type, prepare, distribute, files records/reports, correspondence etc. related to building and student discipline.
- Maintain discipline management records. Post changes daily and provide updated reports to assistant principals.
- Prepare correspondence and distribute copies for all guidance center, ISC, suspension and other types of discipline referrals.
- Secure assignments and books for students assigned to guidance center.
- Assist principal’s secretary as needed.
- Supervise student office assistants.
- Assist in the maintenance of parking information for faculty and students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
