Primary Purpose:
To provide occupational therapy as related service for students with disabilities as identified in the student's individual educational program
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- Degree(s), certification, and/or licensure by the association and/or board as designated by law
- Prefer successful experience in Texas public schools or equivalent
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide services to students with disabilities as specified in the individual education program (IEP)
- Provide consultation to teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents concerning IEP implementation, maintenance, and evaluation
- Offers guidance and assistance to classroom teachers and suggestions for adapting materials and equipment for individual or class use
- Perform other duties as assigned by proper authority
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping,
bending and kneeling, pushing and pulling, regular heavy lifting of students.
Biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases.
