JOB: Child Nutrition Manager Elementary

Primary Purpose:
The elementary manager is a working manager and will be expected to participate in the activities required of all Child Nutrition employees. In general, the manager will be responsible for supervising, controlling, directing, and participating in the preparation and serving of food, the storage of food and supplies, and the sanitation of kitchens. The manager will maintain and perform all tasks necessary for the proper accountability fo all required records.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum education/certification: completion of basic five units in Child Nutrition from San Jacinto College
- Region IV and PISD Manager Trainee courses
- Current City of Houston Child Nutrition Manager Certificate; TASN Level 1 Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Computer experience in child nutrition programs; record keeping, payroll, menu planning
- Ordering, receiving, monitoring temperatures, financial accounting, Microsoft outlook, excel, and word
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English language, spanish speaking preferred
- Child Nutrition operational experience
- Public relations experience
- Professional appearance and attitude
Experience:
- Minimum of three years (3) experience in school food service industry with at least one year experience as a head cashier
