Primary Purpose:
To assist and relieve the Associate Superintendents with a variety of tasks to enhance the smooth and efficient operation of the office of Associate Superintendent for Campus Development; acts as a liaison between District and community, superintendent, parents and staff.
Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to professional communicate with parents, visitor, and district personnel
- Interface with irate parents to de-escalate volatile situations
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
- Be able to determine and evaluate alternatives to achieve primary job goals
- Have an awareness of the district-wide programs available in the area of curriculum as well as discipline
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, student and the school community
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability required to follow procedures or operate machines regularly used in performing job tasks
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount, proportions, percentages, etc.
- Self-initiative to determine sequence or priority of daily activities
- May have ability to learn and utilize new software programs as systems are upgraded
Experience:
- A minimum of five years secretarial/office management
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with a productive office (ie., telephone, correspondence, typing, filing, scheduling, mail distribution, purchase orders, travel arrangements)
- Handle several projects simultaneously
- Maintain multiple financial records and budgets for local and federal budgets
- Prepare purchase orders, check requisitions, supplemental pay requests, and travel reimbursements
- Maintain payroll records
- Effectively organize and manage the district-wide staff development activities ( i.e. strands, Instructional Fair.)
- Type a variety of documents for district-wide use, i.e., curriculum guides, frameworks, strand evaluations, and any other documents as assigned
- Interface with the community and campuses in a positive manner regarding school issues and provides or routes needed information to appropriate personnel
- Maintain inventory of department supplies
