Primary Purpose:
Help provide a safe and reliable vehicle for the transport of students by inspecting, analyzing and repairing P.I.S.D gasoline and diesel powered vehicles and equipment.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Must be cooperative and show initiative towards improving skills
- Able to understand and execute verbal and written orders
- Capable of maintaining and repairing district fleet with limited supervision
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and parts
- Must have basic hand and air tools knowledge
Experience:
- At least one year of mechanical experience in vehicle repairs and other related areas
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Perform repairs on chain saws, blowers, weed eaters, hedgers, pressure washers, lawn mowers and tractors
- Discuss equipment issues, maintenance plan and work performed with customers
- Perform routine engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs
- Test and inspect engine for malfunctioning parts
- Repair or replace worn, defective, or broken parts
- Reassemble and reinstall components and engine following repairs
- Keep record of inspection, test results, work performed and parts used
