Primary Purpose:
Operations of the switchboard by routing and relaying incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls; serving as the receptionist for the school office, and performing some clerical duties as may be assigned by the principal.

Typing and keyboarding skills at a level adequate to the job

Basic skills in spelling, grammar, filing and basic calculations

Bilingual abilities strongly preferred

Ability to communicate with the faculty, staff, students, and general public, both in person and on the telephone.
Experience:
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate a multi-line, multi-function switchboard; taking messages, placing long distance calls and maintaining a record of calls, and contacting appropriate service reps for system and phone repairs
- Greet visitors and new students; directing persons to the correct office or staff
member.
- Greet substitutes, having them sign in and directing them to the proper party to receive instructions
- Prepare the daily bulletin and complete correspondence as directed
- Receive and distribute incoming mail
- Supervise the Lost and Found
- Maintain up-to-date files of weekly calendar, work orders, bus schedules, master class schedule, and other working documents as directed.
- Supervise the bells. Manually ring bells for activity or special schedules or if the regular system fails.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the principal
